Barbour Fit Guide
Welcome to our Barbour Clothing size and fit guides
When ordering Barbour Outerwear you should measure loosely around the chest with normal clothing on, such as shirt and sweater, to get the best jacket fit.
Please refer to these guides if you have any queries about fit, or converting from foreign to English sizing, or feel free to call our knowledgeable staff on 01865 249491.
Classic Garments
These tend to be more generous and less fitted in shape, sized approximately ten inches larger than the physical chest measurement. For example, if a garment is sized at a 44 inch chest (large), the garment will have an actual measurement of around 54 inches. When taking your own measurement (as described above), if you measure a 44 inch chest, order the size 44 and you will have the tolerance to wear a quilted or warm pile liner or thick sweater underneath whilst still giving you freedom of movement.
Contemporary Garments
Designed to appeal to the style conscious customer, Barbour’s Contemporary garments tend to be more fitted. Blazer styles, for example, have a 4 to 6 inch tolerance, whilst their Outerwear has 6 to 8 inches.
